I was super excited when I saw this sketch because no only had I just made a bunch of rosettes (circles) with with my new antiquities stack, which happens to be mostly browns & tans, but I had also just happened to ink the edges red. So I felt like this sketch/ color palette was calling my name!
Have you been thinking about trying out, or switching to digital scrapbooking? I have a great deal for you!
I have been trying out My Memories Suit software the past couple days and love it. I've never done digital scrapbooking before. I consider myself more of a hands on girl, but even so I can see a lot of things I would use this software for. Calendars, books, gifts, maybe even a few hybrid pages?
You can create a page from scratch or just add your pictures to a pre designed template. There's even an 'automatic fill' option where you can literally walk away as it creates an album for you. (not that you'd have time to get very far haha!)
They offer free templates and kits you can download as well as ones you can purchase from the online store, so the creative possibilities are endless!
If you're interested in purchasing the software please feel free to use the following promotion code to receive $10 off the purchase of the software AND a $10 coupon for the http://www.mymemories.com/ store...that's a $20 value!
I recommend you copy/ paste the code so there are no mistakes :)
Later this week I will be hosting a giveaway of the software, so please check back for details, or 'follow' me maybe? :)
I finally just finished the page I've been working on for about the last two weeks. Ok well I started it two weeks and hadn't touched it again until now. Me scrapbooking while its still daylight outside, can you imagine?
I made the background by using alcohol inks on white cardstock. I took a piece of tan cardstock and freehand cut out a square with my craft knife and then painted the edges white.
The pictures are of my sister playing around at a local park last year sometime.
So like I said I had started this page a while ago...I made the title by painting plain chipboard with acrylic paint and then adding glitter. When I went to glue it on today I was missing half of the 'U'. I was freaking out tearing everything apart on the table looking for it and yelling that everything was ruined and that I was never gonna scrapbook again when my sister calmly said "can I have all your stuff then?" and then "just stick a big butterfly on it."
I made all these from one piece of 12''x12'' piece of white cardstock. I actually could have made one more but I lost one of the pieces? Kids and animals around here are known to 'borrow' things ;) I painted them with acrylic paint and then added stickles and diamond dust.
Friday was my grandmother's birthday and she wanted a home made cake this year so I made this:
That thing took five hours! FIVE!
So with all that going on I totally forgot about making her a card. Day of I quickly came up with this:
Notice I used one of the flowers I made and I was dyingggg to use my new Martha Stewart all around the page punch (that I got on clearance for $14.99!!) I also reused part of a Prima package :)
I'm also stilllll working on a scrapbook page I started last week sometime, hopefully tonight I can finish it up.
So I've decided I need to start a blog so I can play along with the sketchy thursdays challenges....and other things too I'm sure. I also like the idea of sharing/ talking about my scrapbook pages because it's something I'm very passionate about...I just don't know if anyone else will care hahah.
This is a page I created for the 8-11 sketchy thursday sketch challenge. I had a few problems with this one lol at first I was trying to make it look more like the actual sketch but realized my pictures were a bit too big...but making it your own is what it's all about, right? Then when I went to put on the 'christmas' title one of the rhinestones fell off so I reached for my glossy accents since I keep hearing it works amazingly as a glue. I accidently dripped a little on the lower red circle and thought 'no big deal, I'll just make the whole thing glossy' but when I went to squeeze some more out the lid came off and almost half the bottle flew out all over my page, table, pants, AND floor. I panicked for about ten seconds and then started to wipe away the extra with a paint brush (saving the page came before my table, pants, or floor of course hahah) So anyways I ended up having to make the whole bottom half glossy, and adding the gold ribbon to cover up a little that had leaked onto the pictures. *siiiiigh* I'll stick to my regular glue from now on.
The pictures are of my mom, sister, and I christmas of 2009. Mom was opening a peace sign necklace she had been wanting, Michelle's holding a tinkerbell doll, and I had just opened 'The Secret Garden', I loooove that movie!
I'm working on another page right now as well as making some flowers. I need to make some birthday cards considering it's my grandma's, sister's, AND mom's birthday all next week hahah. It's hard to get anything done with a new puppy in the house, but hopefully another post later tonight, or tomorrow. Peace and love :)
